Is it hard to make money from blogging?

Yes, it is.

Is it rocket science to make a living from blogging?

No, it’s not.

But here’s the thing: 99% of NEW bloggers earn nothing. They earn peanuts if at all!

Do you know why?

This email deals exactly with that. We’ll also discuss how to fix that issue. Are you ready? Let’s jump in.

Top 3 Reasons Most Bloggers Don’t Make Money And How to Fix It?

There could be a thousand reasons for someone to not make any money from their blogs, but here are the 3 major reasons.

Not treating blogging like a business

Most people start blogs for fun. They use free blogging platforms such as Blogger to launch blogs.

They usually don’t care about their niche, content, design or SEO. That’s why they fail! That’s the reason why they often struggle to generate more traffic and sales.

So how to fix it?

Blogging is fun but doesn’t treat it as a hobby if you’re serious about making a living from it. You should treat blogging as a real business.

Just like any other business, every blog needs investment. You should be willing to invest both your time and $$$$ to make it successful. So invest in the right things such as;

Email marketing (you need to build an email list for better conversions and build trust with your audience) Website design (purchase a premium SEO-friendly theme, go for Elegant themes if you’re on a tight budget) SEO (you can either invest in premium tools like Semrush or you can use affordable stuff like KWFinder for finding keywords and other SEO related things)

You’re NOT consistent

I’ve seen hundreds of talented people in my blogging career so far. 99% of them are NOT blogging now. They always work hard for the first 3 to 6 months. Create great content.

And then... they disappear when they don’t see any results like traffic and sales.

So how to fix it?

Consistency beats talent. If you’re not consistent, you should forget about building a successful blog. Stick to a blog posting schedule. Use an editorial calendar to plan your blog posts in advance.

Commit to yourself for at least 1 year. Only then, you’ll see decent traffic and profits from blogging. Blogging is NOT a sprint, it's a marathon. It takes at least 1 year to make it profitable.

You’re doing it all by yourself

Blogging involves many tasks such as content creation, SEO, email marketing, social media, and so on. If you’re doing all those things by yourself, you’ll burn out. You’ll feel exhausted and give up very soon.

So how to fix it?

Find people. Outsource time-consuming tasks such as content creation, SEO, and social media. That way, you can take care of other important things like conversions, topic research, product creation, and so on.

Yes, it will cost you to outsource those tasks. But the ROI will be great if you stick to your blog for 1 or 2 years. I’m a living example as I outsource most of the tasks including content marketing and social media.

There you go. Building a profitable blog takes time. You need a plan. You need to treat blogging as a business to succeed.
